With a career spanning over four decades, he has crafted homes throughout Augusta, Coastal Georgia, and South Carolina, showcasing a profound understanding of local architectural styles and environmental considerations. His credentials as a Fellow, Certified Professional Building Designer and past National President of the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD) further emphasize his leadership in the industry. He sits as Senior Advisor on the Hilton Head HBA.
As a former HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rater, Sam integrates energy-efficient technologies and sustainable building practices into his designs, ensuring that his homes are not only functional and aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally responsible. Fred Dean is an experienced architect with over 35 years in the industry, specializing in a wide range of projects from custom homes and estates to light commercial buildings and large residential developments. Fred’s approach combines creative design with practical solutions, ensuring each project is both functional and aesthetically inspiring.
Throughout his career, Fred has had the opportunity to work on projects across the globe, including the US, Europe, Africa, India, Asia, and Australia. This international experience has allowed him to understand and adapt to diverse cultural and environmental contexts, enhancing his ability to deliver unique and contextually sensitive designs.
Fred holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he also completed specialized training in Energy Engineering and Solar Photovoltaic Systems. This technical expertise has fueled his passion for sustainable architecture, and commitment to integrating energy-efficient solutions into his designs.
Fred is affiliated with several professional organizations, including AIA, NCARB, USGBC, and hold LEED-AP credentials.
